Founded in 1947, NAPMM strives to help market managers improve facilities and increase services while encouraging cooperation and exchange of ideas between members.
NAPMM's mission is to improve and strengthen the economic health and vitality of year-round, permanent, wholesale produce markets, retail farmers' markets, and public markets.
The objective of this association is to perfect an organization of produce market managers for the purpose of:
Improving the markets and market facilities of the Americas and associated international markets;
Increasing the services that American and associated international markets render to the public, the producers of marketable goods, and the distributors who avail themselves of the markets;
Promoting cooperation and exchanges of information between various U. S and International markets;
Initiating and cooperating with other agencies in the preparation and support of desirable legislation and administrative rules;
Making recommendations regarding research studies and other activities beneficial to marketing;
Working for the adoption and practice of high market standards.

Dallas Farmers Market Names New Market Administrator
August 1, 2007 - The Dallas Farmers Market announces the appointment of Ms. Janel Leatherman as the new Market Administrator.
Ms. Leatherman has a bachelor's degree in agriculture from New Mexico State University. For the past seven years Ms. Leatherman served as the Farmers Market Manager for the City of Virginia Beach. She has held positions at Botanica, The Wichita Gardens and Norfolk Botanical Garden.
